We have a new liver

I will keep this short and sweet because I'm tired.
The backup call turned into the real deal at 2 p.m. Thursday. And 12 hours later, I stood in the ICU and looked at my beautiful, battered sleeping husband, who had just undergone a liver transplant.
It's early days and it would be presumptive to assume clear sailing. But he now has a shot at life.
I cannot express how sorry I am for the donor's family, whoever they are. And how much I will always thank God for their generosity.
Lois

  5. Oh wow....I am so happy for you all. I know how long you have waited for this day. You will be surprised at how quickly many of the symptoms of liver failure will resolve themselves. It is amazing. Tell him to stay strong and get better quick!

  7. This is the best news I've heard in ages! Beaux now has a 2nd birthday - March 8 - to celebrate. My prayers go out to the donor's family and friends, who hopefully find comfort knowing their loss has saved others' lives. Thank you again for your updates, Lois. God bless you all.
