We have a new liver

I will keep this short and sweet because I'm tired.
The backup call turned into the real deal at 2 p.m. Thursday. And 12 hours later, I stood in the ICU and looked at my beautiful, battered sleeping husband, who had just undergone a liver transplant.
It's early days and it would be presumptive to assume clear sailing. But he now has a shot at life.
I cannot express how sorry I am for the donor's family, whoever they are. And how much I will always thank God for their generosity.

  1. Wonderful news! Please convey my good wishes.

  2. Lois -Breathing through tears of relief for you and your family. I know you are all still on the journey- please know my prayers are with you and your husband. xo teri

  3. Lois this is amazing...teri just sent me a message to let me know. Beaux, your family and the bereaved generous family are all in my heart as I pray for continued healing for one and all.

when beaux wakes please let him know I am praying for him.

    gentle steps,

  4. Oh wow YAY!
    Got everything crossed for you.
Oh, and although it seems a little odd, I encourage you to take pics of his progress in ICU. Its nice to look back on, when your having a bad day, you can kinda say, well I have come from that, so I have come this far!

  5. Oh wow....I am so happy for you all. I know how long you have waited for this day. You will be surprised at how quickly many of the symptoms of liver failure will resolve themselves. It is amazing. Tell him to stay strong and get better quick!

  6. Awesome news! I know how long he's been waiting and how tiring the journey had become. He continues to be in my prayers on the smoke. Sending healing blessings sweet friends. (Hugs)Indigo

  7. This is the best news I've heard in ages! Beaux now has a 2nd birthday - March 8 - to celebrate. My prayers go out to the donor's family and friends, who hopefully find comfort knowing their loss has saved others' lives. Thank you again for your updates, Lois. God bless you all.

  8. Wishing you well and praying for a speedy recovery. We now have something else in common - my birthday is March 8, and that means all great things happen in March. :)

Praying for you, Lois and your daughters. You'll be up and running in no time!

  9. thinking about you all today...praying for continued healing, day by day by day.
