Hanging in There

I'm sorry for not posting lately, but my life has been somewhat hectic. Ever since I had my procedure done, my health has changed considerably. My body aches all the time and I have been extremely tired. I think part of this is due to medicine change.
I have my MELD checked later next week and soon after that I will be seeing my doctor. Hopefully we can figure out what's going on with me. I have had a lot of swelling happening so perhaps it's time we put the water pills back on the table.
Thanks to all who have emailed me to see how I've been doing. I'm hanging in there and hope for positive results with my next appointment.
   Wishing everyone well.

  1. Ugh, sounds awful. The diuretic does sound like a good idea.

  2. Careful with the diuretic - it can be very hard on the kidneys. Are you limiting your sodium and fluid intake?

I'm sorry you're feeling under the weather - hoping for better health OR a higher MELD score.

My husband's liver transplant was 1 month ago today - they had to go back in two weeks ago to plug up a leak in the bile duct. He's feeling better - getting there - building up his stamina.

Take care. I was concerned that you hadn't updated lately.

  3. Take things easy, I know its easier said than done. And if you feel you need reviewing sooner, make sure you phone them.

  4. Holding you and your beautiful family in my prayers as always. I hope the doctors will find a way to offer you some relief after your appointment.

  5. I'm glad to see your update - been wondering how you are. The waiting is hell, I know. You feel so crappy and wonder how much worse is has to get before you're sick enough to have your transplant. I knew I was lucky to get a liver so quickly after I was listed (thanks to a high MELD score) but learning your story and stories from others, I now realize that I was very fortunate to go from diagnosis (needing a transplant) to surgery in 7 months. Since then - well, that's another story. You're in my prayers.
